Being home
being home is one thing i rarely do nowdays, being an university student need many many commitments. Specially when it comes to studies. Assignment need to be hand in and attending long hours of lecture and tutorial. And if you need to brush up your resume when applying for job, you need to be involved in co-curriculum activities. By the time you fit everything into your schedule, home seems to be far far away. I do miss sleeping till afternoon or watching TV for the entire day. But somehow, when you enter the life of university, you will have an automatic program in your neuron system that will remind/ensure/force you to do your homework, and work and more work before facing another university life tomorrow. It seems to make me no longer interested into long hours of TV spree nor sleeping marathon. Today for example, i kept on flipping the channels on my Astro and was wondering, "is there anything that can make me stay on my couch for the next 7hours?".
The answer is no. I keep on walking around. looking for things to do, like cleaning up the place or reading something during the advertisement period between scenes of the show. I can no longer just sit there and stare at the box without moving or thinking of anything else. I began to act like my mum or my aunt. I used to wonder how can my aunt or mum walk away from the TV in the middle of their programme and not get irritated. And why cant they just sit down and stay sit? I now understand why, TV addiction wears off when you are preoccupied with something else or when you have a new life routine which does not involve TV. Or it is just part of growing up?
Of couse i do not deny the fact that hearing my phone alerting me non stop with its loud ring tone telling me that i have a SMS. If you ever want to test your endurance, try 15 SMS and 2 miss calls. Its quite hard to ignore and still stay in front of the TV. However, despite the phone and household chores calling me continuously, i manage to watch National Treasure, Richie Rich, How do they do it and Ripleys believe it or not. Richie Rich.
The story about the richest boy in the world. Its a very very old movie, i still remember how much i love the cartoon made based on it. I was around 8 or 9 when i watch the cartoon series. And It still stays fresh in my memory.
National Treasure. It was shown 2 years ago if not mistaken. Its about a guy who was assigned to be treasury hunting knights and carrying out his family's legacy as treasure hunting knights. It seems that the map is behind the America's Declaration of independence and riddle are more complicated than Da Vinci Code. This movie has a scene where they guy stole the Declaration of Independence from the white house easily. It seem to have some indication that the security at the White House beign very very lenient. Plus, the blue prints, pipeline plans and every process of storing, keeping, security about the important piece of document was written on a book which was easily accessible from the Library, Is it true that such important information can be taken so easily or it is just another movie trick?
How do they do it. It is a program by discovery channel. It never seems to fail to marvel me. Things that goes on during our life when we are just here dealing with our blogging pandamic. It explains how are steel made, how are telephone made, heck, who really knows how this the table you use as desk are made from and by who and with what? Of should i say, how many of us actually go and find it out?
Ripleys believe it or not. One of the shows which makes u wonder are we human really human or just another plain camera trick. Somehow it seems that the show repeats its program and "unusual" fact again and again. Guess they ran out of "unusal" things to show anymore. Even their exibition site at Genting is really really getting old fashioned. I remember being a frequent patron of Genting, i visited the exibition site once it is conpleated. And it was around year 2003. A year ago i went up genting again to find out that NONE of the exibition atem has being changed. Other than the increasing ticket price.
Thats all for today I guess. Will spam more next time
